Be safe when you are online!
I have quoted down some points which would help you to be safe while surfing in internet.
1) Never disclose your personal information through any mail, no organization or banks will ask for any personal information via mail, if you get any mails of this sort just ignore it or if you are too concerned contact the bank ppl via phone or by person.
2) Do not click on any unknown website links, it can have many surprise packages from virus to trojans which can eat ur PC up!!
3) Do not copy paste your passwords, things in your clipboard are easily readable.
4) Have any site advisor addons installed in your browser which will tell you how secure the site is (eg: mcafee site advisor)
5) If you are using firefox as browser install an addon called no-script, this helps in preventing any malicious scripts from running in your browser when the site loads up.
6) Have a good & updated version of antivirus & firewall.
7) If you are going for any online transactions make sure the link in the address bar starts with https & not http
8) While downloading a software from a 3rd part untrusted website make sure you check the hash value of the software(md5 hash) whether its the same as the one released by the original developer.
9) There are lot of fake pages making ways now, so better watch out for the link of the website you visit in.
10) Always use special characters in password, that makes your password more secure.
